Evangelistic Efforts:
January, 2009, As we begin this new year, we reflect with joy upon the blessings of 2008. We are looking forward to a year of many changes, but in which we hope and trust God will move in a mighty way among his people bringing repentence and revival as His name is magnified in all.
Elder and Sister Weyel are preparing for a return visit among the people of Cambodia, and are praying earnestly for the Holy Spirit to direct the progress and future of the work there. Please join in praying for the believers among the Cambodian people that the Lord will continue to establish his church there and bless them with revival.
October 10, 2008, Elder Jamey Tucker, Elder Joseph Weyel and Sister Rachel Weyel have returned from their third visit to Cambodia. The Orphanage in Stoung is doing well and the children were found to be happy, well cared for and their education seems to be progressing well.
We are facing some challenges as we reach the end of our first year which include decisions regarding the renewal of our lease on the facility. We solicit your prayers and support as we consider the available options for expanding our services in the Stoung community. If it is the Lord's will, we are open to the posibility of investing in a property on which to construct long term residence halls, classroom facilities, playgrounds and gardening areas.
On this visit we commited to the care of two additional children bringing the total number of orphans living in our facility to 13. In the near future we will be making individual sponsorships available for each child and for future children as funds become available.
In addition to the orphanage business conducted on this visit we were blessed to engage in gospel ministry in Siem Reap, Kampot, and Kampong Thom provinces. Please continue in prayer for all of the Lord's work in Cambodia and Southeast Asia.
The Lord is clearly opening up doors of ministry for the gospel of God's sovereign grace as many are being converted from pagan idolatry and superstition to a trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior and God.
